Meet The Team
Colin was appointed IWS Water Hygiene Managing Director in 2018. Before joining IWS, Colin was a senior international business change and transformation consultant working predominantly in private equity restructure and turnaround, having completed three private equity turnarounds and subsequent sales.
Previously he held the position of COO at Enserve Group and senior executive roles at United Utilities, E.ON, Capital One Bank and British Gas.
IWS Water Hygiene proudly serve customers in the hospitality & leisure, facilities management, education and childcare, retail, healthcare, social housing, government and local authority sectors.
Colin is passionate about creating an environment where his people are empowered to deliver safely and give of their best. Through his leadership we try very hard every day to ensure that our clients are fully satisfied by the advice and service provided.
Jon has worked in the water treatment and water hygiene business for over 30 years and has worked at IWS Water Hygiene for 16 years. Jon Started out as a service engineer maintaining water treatment equipment and joined IWS in 2003 to help them develop the business into the market leader it is today, through strategic acquisitions and organic growth.
During his time at IWS Water Hygiene, Jon has been instrumental in developing the products and services that are offered and for creating the Online Report Tracker (ORT) system that provides customers with real time reporting of the condition and compliance of their water systems. This system allows customers to log on through a web based portal to review and access their site specific data, which is populated by data collected remotely by the IWS Water Hygiene operatives whilst conducting the site visits.
With his wealth of knowledge and experience within the Water Hygiene and Treatment market, Jon now has responsibility for the Business Development and Marketing of The IWS Water Hygiene Business within existing markets such as Social Housing, Universities and Education, Local Authorities and Facilities Management, but also to expand target markets such as Hotels, Retail and the Leisure industry.
As well as heading up the business development for IWS Water Hygiene, Jon also is part of the Senior Management Leadership Team which strategically manages the business and maintains its position as the market leader and company of choice for Legionella Control and Water Treatment services provision.
Simon has worked in the water treatment and water hygiene industry for over 20 years and has worked at IWS Water Hygiene for 7 years. Simon’s early role was as a Planner/Scheduler for a large M&E company, before making his way to a senior national role through a number of lower and middle management roles on the service delivery side of the business. He was also instrumental in building a successful Water Hygiene service offering in southern England and Wales.
After a 19 years excelling in various senior management roles, including regional management in both water and total facilities management and business change and improvement, Simon joined IWS Water Hygiene in 2012 as an Area Business Manager for the South. Over the course of the last 5 years, he has continuously delivered growth and stability for the southern area, building a strong management and delivery team and ensuring high levels of customer retention and promoting new services.
With his wealth of general management knowledge and experience, Simon now has responsibility for the Operational delivery and growth of the Southern regions and the IWS National Projects Team, who deliver specialist water treatment and chemical dosing installations and services across the UK. Simon has strategic responsibility for the UK Account Management Team and is championing the Voice of the Customer, an initiative to ensure that we as a business fully understands the needs of our Customers and delivers innovative, market-leading services and support in order to meet them.
Simon is also a member of the Senior Management Leadership Team which strategically manages the business and maintains its position as the market leader and company of choice for Legionella Control and Water Treatment services provision.
Karen has worked in the water industry for 18 years, however, her career originated in the insurance industry starting as a trainee and finishing as a business account manager handling a £3m portfolio.
Post a brief family break, Karen changed career path to the water hygiene industry and started working as a key account manager for a national water treatment company. Learning the industry requirements, legislation and merits of good service delivery, in a diverse business spectrum covering industrial, hotel and leisure, education and commercial customers, she also developed the business process controls. She also successfully achieved health and safety qualifications and became Central Services Manager and subsequently Administration Director with responsibility for developing and managing all the internal processes and systems for the company, including the implementation of a new CRM system.
IWS Water Hygiene acquired the company Karen was working for in October 2016, and she was actively involved in managing the integration process and the latterly the development of the newly installed ERP system, delivering improvements to the system and it an integral part of our progressive and forward thinking business.
Karen became the Head of Central Services taking responsibility for Health and Safety, Technical Support and Business Systems. She is part of the Senior Management Leadership Team which strategically manages the business and maintains its position as the market leader and company of choice for Legionella Control and Water Treatment services provision.
Kevin has worked within the water treatment and water hygiene business for over 30 years and has been with IWS Water Hygiene for the past 10 years. Kevin initially started out as a Water Treatment Account Manager looking after steam boilers, cooling towers, process systems and plant and effluent treatment, before moving on to a regional then UK wide management role. He joined IWS Water Hygiene in 2009 to help develop the business initially in the Northern region and then also took responsibility for the development of the Scottish and Midlands regions as well.
During his time at IWS Water Hygiene Kevin has played a pivotal part in growing the 3 regions through organic growth and integration of targeted acquisitions, ensuring both sales and operations continued to be delivered in a high quality and structured way. He has also been instrumental in helping to restructure the business as it has grown to take it to one of the largest Water Hygiene companies in the UK.
With his wealth of knowledge and experience within the Water Hygiene and Treatment market, Kevin now has responsibility for Scotland, the Northern and the Midlands regional businesses, together with a brief to continuously develop the UK service delivery process, ensuring our clients receive the same high level of service throughout the country, regardless of the contract value.
As well as heading up the Northern Business and Operations for IWS Water Hygiene, Kevin is also part of the Senior Management Leadership Team which strategically manages the business and maintains its position as the market leader and company of choice for Legionella Control and Water Treatment services provision.
Tim has been an ACCA qualified accountant for over 15 years, having worked for PwC early in his career. At PwC he gained a wide range of experience across varying sizes of businesses in a wide variety of sectors.
Following his time at PwC, Tim worked for two facilities management companies offering a wide variety of services from catering to Gas contracts across the UK. He then moved to National Grid to initially take up a role as Performance Controller where he gained insight into the workings of the Utilities Industry.
Tim has significant experience working within facilities management businesses, in particular driving working capital and cash flow improvements, as well as improving the quality of management information provided to the senior management teams enabling them to drive the business forwards. He has expertise in financial and ERP software systems and has brought this expertise to all the companies he has worked for.
In July 2017 Tim was persuaded to join the team at IWS Water Hygiene and has worked for IWS WH for nearly 2 years. During his time here he has been actively involved in managing the finance processes of the newly installed ERP system, delivering valuable improvements to the system and management information to the senior leadership team.
Tim is Head of Finance, taking responsibility for all aspects the company’s finances and manages the HR team. He is part of the Senior Management Leadership Team which strategically manages the business and maintains its position as the market leader and company of choice for Legionella Control and Water Treatment services provision.
