IWS M&E has announced the appointment of Mike Williams as its new Divisional Director, effective 5 January 2026, as the business continues to expand its specialist mechanical and electrical engineering capability across the UK water sector.
Mike will lead the strategic direction, operational performance and growth of IWS M&E and fellow South Staffordshire Plc Group Business G Stow, bringing together complementary expertise in M&E engineering and groundwater services. His appointment supports the Group’s ambition to deliver integrated, high‑quality solutions for water and environmental customers.
Mike brings over 18 years’ operational and customer‑focused leadership experience across HM Courts & Tribunals Service, Severn Trent Services and Severn Trent Water. He has led UK‑wide operations in highly regulated environments, delivering sustained improvements in performance, customer experience and employee engagement, and has a strong track record in large‑scale operational delivery, commercial contract management and transformational change.
The leadership change follows Dean Adams’ move to a new role within OnSite, another South Staffordshire Plc Group business. Dean has made a significant contribution to IWS M&E’s development, and the company extends its thanks for his leadership and contribution.
Barry Hayward, Group CCO at South Staffordshire Plc said:
“Mike’s appointment marks an exciting step forward for IWS M&E. His experience and leadership will help us continue to grow, innovate and deliver exceptional service for our customers. A huge thank you to Dean for his contributions to IWS M&E, and I look forward to continuing to work with him within the Group.”
Mike Williams added:
“I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Divisional Director and to have the opportunity to lead IWS M&E into its next phase of growth. The business has a strong team, deep technical capability and a clear role to play in supporting our customers and the wider Group. I’m looking forward to working closely with colleagues to build on that strength, continue improving our performance and deliver even greater value for the customers and communities we serve.”
IWS M&E remains focused on supporting the UK water industry with high‑quality engineering, maintenance and project delivery, underpinned by a strong safety culture and customer‑first approach.
