Integrated Water Services colleague wins ‘CEO’s safety award’

We recently held our second Group Health and Safety conference, led by Richard Brookes, South Staffordshire Plc’s Group Head of Health and Safety.

This was a fantastic opportunity for some of the front-line teams from across our Group businesses to come together, joining the Group Executive.

The Group seated during a presentation by SSI’s Managing Director, Simon Dray.

Throughout the day colleagues were able to join in with discussions around safety leadership and learning better together, whilst also celebrating excellence and individual successes.

As part of the celebration, several awards were presented. The recipient of the ‘CEO’s safety award’ was Kyle Fallows, Framework Manager for IWS M&E.

Kyle is responsible for the operation at IWS M&E’s Altham branch. When Kyle joined the business in 2021, he recognised the potential for significant operational and safety improvements at the site. He has worked tirelessly, and in collaboration with the safety and compliance functions to formulate improvement plans.

Altham has undergone significant change following the completion of a proactive investigation.  This has included a complete redistribution of the equipment within the workshop and the storage facilities/yard, ensuring an effective working flow. This has also resulted in a safer working environment for the whole team.  Changes have included an overhead gantry crane, marked and barriered walkways and a guarding review of all machinery.

Kyle’s passion has driven a transformation with operational delivery, commercial performance and safety working in parallel.
